Philippe Vandenberg: Visite (2008)

Philippe Vandenberg: Visite is the catalogue to the exhibition of the same name that was held in the Museum of Fine Arts of Ghent in 2008. In this museum, Vandenberg was first immersed in the history of art as a young man. During Visite, the artist revisited the museum and initiated a dialogue between his own works and works from the collection. The catalogue documents this dialogue with photographs of the artist in his studio and installation views of his works juxtaposed with works by, among others, Théodore Géricault, Hieronymus Bosch and Gustave Permeke.

Visite was edited by Anja De Lannoy and contains forewords by Robert Hoozee (Museum of Fine Arts, Ghent) and Jan van Woensel and Niels Van Tomme (De Appel Arts Centre, Amsterdam) as well as the transcripts of a conversation between Bernard Dewulf and Philippe Vandenberg.
