Philippe Vandenberg: Visite (2008)

Philippe Vandenberg: Visite is the catalogue to the exhibition of the same name that was held in the Museum of Fine Arts of Ghent in 2008. In this museum, Vandenberg was first immersed in the history of art as a young man. During Visite, the artist revisited the museum and initiated a dialogue between his own works and works from the collection. The catalogue documents this dialogue with photographs of the artist in his studio and installation views of his works juxtaposed with works by, among others, Théodore Géricault, Hieronymus Bosch and Gustave Permeke.

Black a Garden for St. John’s Millbrook is an artist’s book by Philippe Vandenberg. It was published in conjunction with an exhibition of the same name and a concert by the American musician Lee Ranaldo in Croxhapox, Ghent, in 2008. The book includes the artist’s seminal text as I’m painting a garden for St John’s Millbrook and his so called Molenbeek Drawings, spanning the years 2006-2008.

The catalogue includes a selection of paintings and drawings spanning the years 2000 to 2006. It also contains two seminal texts by Vandenberg and an interview with the artist by Gérard Berréby.
