A primordial aim of the Philippe Vandenberg Foundation is to foster knowledge and interpretations about the oeuvre, practice and life of Philippe Vandenberg. Stimulated by research program, a first group of actions focuses on the consolidation of sources by and about the artist. They aim at safeguarding knowledge on Vandenberg for future generations.
In order for a legacy to keep up with the times, the foundation keeps its interpretations moving. A second group of actions therefore enhances the visibility of the oeuvre and encourages broader art historical interpretations within an international perspective.
On a regular basis the Philippe Vandenberg Foundation collaborates in research projects with Universities and Art Schools, such as the Faculty of Art, Music and Theatre studies of the Ghent University, the bachelor program conservation and restoration of the Antwerp University and the book binding studio of L’École de la Cambre, Brussels.
