About the film:
These films document the duo exhibition Berlinde De Bruyckere & Philippe Vandenberg: Il me faut tout oublier. The exhibition was held in 2014 in La Maison Rouge, Paris. Background is provided by Berlinde De Bruyckere and Philippe Vandenberg’s daughter Hélène Vandenberghe. Curated by de Bruyckere herself, the exhibition confronted their oeuvres to enhance a dialogue. On view was a selection of paintings and works on paper by Vandenberg spanning the years 1995-2001 alongside her own sculptures and drawings. For La Maison Rouge, she produced seven new wax sculptures whose forms suggest tree trunks as much as bandaged bodies under duress.
