An Artist’s Legacy (2021)

The panel discussion An Artist’s Legacy took place on the occasion of the conference Symposium on Artist Endowed Foundations. The conference was held online and was organised by AAMC – The Association of Art Museum Curators. The panel was preceded by lectures by panelists Hélène Vandenberghe (Director Philippe Vandenberg Foundation), Kathy Battista (Faculty Architectural Association School of Architecture and Creative Director Sevil Dolmaci Gallery) and Gilbert Vazquez (Acting Director and President Keith Haring Foundation) and was moderated by Ursula Davila-Villa (Independent art historian). The discussion addressed questions such as how to adapt an artist’s legacy as terminology shifts, transparency versus privacy is challenged, and new interpretations of work come to light?
